Festivals Toolkit: Diversity: Family Friendly
| << previous page | page 3 of 3 | next section >> |
Festivals offer a great opportunity for families to participate in
and enjoy a rich variety of arts experiences. These experiences can become embedded in a family’s
personal history
and through that lead young people to
develop a lifelong relationship with your organisation and with the arts. It is vital therefore
that the particular needs of family audiences are integrated into your programming and your
marketing.
Arts Council England has published a
Family Friendly
Toolkit that explores and outlines the several ways in which arts organisations can
contribute to family life through shared entertainment, leisure and learning. This initiative is
central to its policy for ensuring that the early experiences that young people have of the arts
play a role in developing lifelong participation in the arts.
