What is EMPAF?

East Midlands Participatory Arts Forum exists to provide a platform for communication and development of the participatory arts sector in the East Midlands. Its members currently include:

What does EMPAF do?

The core members meet four times a year.  The purpose of the forum is:

  • to provide a collective voice for the participatory arts sector for campaigning,and advocacy
  • to raise the prfolie of the participatory arts
  • to develop a wider network of participatory artists and arts organisations and disseminate good practice
  • to provide opportunities for debate around the theory and philosophy of participatory arts
  • to develop professional practice
  • to respond collectively  to national and regional strategies

In between meetings, the EMPAF steering group meets to lead any work agreed at meetings and to set the agenda for the next meeting.

Who can join EMPAF?

The Forum

To join EMPAF, your organistion must be recommended and agreed by the steeting group. You could be eligible if you are a community or participatory arts organisations who has been established for at least three years. You must also be a not for profit organisation and your core principles must meet those of EMPAF.

Membership is open to all individuals and organisations who are interested in participatory arts. You can join by going to the EMPAF website.
