North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield Arts Forum

What is NEDCAF (North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield Arts Forum)?

NEDCAF provides artists and arts organisations  in North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield with an opportunity to:

  • meet other artists and practitioners within the area and share information about the work you do locally, regionally and nationally
  • advertise future gigs, exhibitions and performances
  • do some individual and group networking
  • promote the wide variety of arts and artists of the region
  • discuss local Arts Development issues and future plans for the Arts in North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield.

The first NEDCAF meeting for the area took place at The Winding Wheel, Chesterfield on Tuesday 6th September 2005.  It was a great success with over 50 people attending and representing a variety of art forms, arts organisations, clubs, societies and those generally interested in the arts in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.

The second NEDCAF meeting took place on Wednesday 1st February 2006. Again it was well attended with 28 people from many different artistic backgrounds.  The meeting considered a first draft of the Arts Development Strategy being prepared by Chesterfield Borough Council and North East Derbyshire District Council.  It also discussed the future role of NEDCAF and some possible objectives for the forum.

The third NEDCAF meeting took place on Tuesday 27th June 2006. Brian Morris from LINKS CVS for Chestefield and North East Derbyshire gave a presentation on Funding: How to raise funds and guidance through application forms.  The meeting also agreed a mission statement for NEDCAF and to the setting up of steering group.
