Mills and Chimneys - lyric writing competition for Derbyshire Literature Festival 2010

We’re delighted to be working with Fleet Arts and the Turn It Up music project for the festival lyric writing competition.

We are looking for the lyrics for a song inspired by the Derbyshire landscape, places, people or history. It could be about where you live or your favourite place.

The song needs to have several verses and a chorus.

Winning entries from two age categories; under 16 years and Adult (16 years, and above), will be developed and adapted into a song by Derbyshire singer songwriter David Gibb www.myspace.com/davidgibb (opens in a new window) with support from other Turn it Up Musicians.

The songs will be performed acoustically at several concerts during the Festival and will be recorded.

They will also be published on the Festival website page and on www.artsderbyshire.org.uk (opens in a new window).

Entry to the competition is free.
